Ok, I'm only a few days late, posting Christmas pictures on New Year's Day.
We actually started opening presents on Christmas Eve. If we hadn't, we never would have got through them all. Daphne really cleaned up. :)
Daphne actually slept in a little bit on Christmas morning (we savored this, knowing it would probably never happen again) and then got up to put the star at the top of the advent calendar her Mommy and Grandma made for her.
Then she started working on presents. She was a little confused at first, but she warmed up to it quickly enough.
Pretty soon the floor was strewn with wrapping & tissue paper, ribbons, and bows (this was the kitty's Christmas present). And there was a fair amount of loot, too.
Daphne's big present from Santa was a two-sided easel, with a dry erase board on one side and a chalkboard on the other, plus a bunch of colored chalk. What Holly and I got from Santa was a thin layer of chalk dust coating everything in our home.
Daphne definitely had an enjoyable Christmas. It was much easier than usual to catch her smiling for a picture.
Christmas day afternoon, we headed over to Bryon and Mauria's place, where yet more loot (the stuff Holly's Dad sent) was waiting. By this time, Daphne was an old pro at unwrapping.
Eventually, having reached some sort of toy saturation point, Daphne gave up on the new stuff and just chased around the house for a while. Ah, the natural state of the toddler.
And thus ended Christmas. I suspect, though, that the Christmas carol singing will go on for some time. Daphne's been singing a lot of Silent Night and Jingle Bells lately - and it only took a solid month of listening to the all-Christmas-music radio stations. :)
Hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for all the good stuff (and Daphne thanks you as well, believe me.)
