Should I be upset that Daphne watched The American Mall twice? If you don't know what this is, imagine High School Musical set in a Mall. Yep, that stupid.

Gone are the days of Dora, Sesame Street, Wiggles, and Little Einsteins. She insists on looking like a teenager now. I am not sure what that means, but I am keeping her from MTV as long as I can.

Thank goodness she still worships those Disney Princesses and Fairies. But I am sad to say that you Care Bears and My Little Ponies may soon find yourselves at the bottom of the toy box.

Ahhh....she is growing up way too fast.

Here are the things I would have posted if there had been any time in July:

* Daphne rode the train for the very first time.

* It rained....and rained...and rained.

* I learned that all frogs are toads but not all toads are frogs. Oh, and that toads are stupid creatures who have a time share in my garage. Really, we had a toad invasion.

* I was in school full-time and didn't have time to do anything, nothing at all.

* Daphne prefers the Lion King 2 to the original. I think she is crazy.

* It takes $50 to fill my gas tank.

* Aprille has a cute baby....a baby that if she were to ask me is going to be one smart cookie....not unlike my own smart cookie. I could see it in his eyes. He was very aware of what was going on around him. A sure sign of intelligence.

* Daphne keeps letting her webkinz die. I have been spending more and more time online trying to keep the stupid things alive not to mention the stupid gardens. Why do I do this? I guess to remind me why I never let her get a dog.

* Daphne stuck a cotton ball up her nose. Yeuuck!

* Jack went to Memphis for a few days. Ya..that was sad. But, he did bring back chap-stick from Graceland.

* Daphne got in BIG trouble yesterday for hitting a girl at pre-school. She can be such a bully. Well...the little bully got sent to her room for the entire evening and wasn't allowed to do anything except read. She only got to read because I can't use reading as a punishment. I goes against my nature.

* I joined GoodReads. Join up and be my friend.

* Marie reads smarter books than I do. I hope she doesn't think I am dumb for reading vampire romance novels.

This is the last you will hear from me because I have to finish a paper tonight and then I have to prepare for BREAKING DAWN. Would it be creepy if I went to the release party? I will probably just wait until Saturday Morning. Although it is tempting to go all dressed up like Bella or something.

Sigh...this is the intelligent blogging you have been missing.

This past weekend Jack and I spent an entire afternoon cleaning our garage. We swept, filled trash bags, and organized (by which I mean that we lined stuff against the walls).

It looked great and we were so proud of our work. Today when we drove up to our garage we saw a large blob with liquid coming out of it. Jack went to inspect and discovered a dead frog. We think that somehow it got in the garage and then we ran over it this morning on our way out. Yuck!

I told Jack that this fell under "Man's Work". I will stand by that. Scraping dead frogs off the floor of the garage and finding a place to dispose of the body is no work for a lady!!

I know that most of you have been anxious for me to resume my blogging now that it is summer and the horrors of school are over. By horrors I mean the lack of time that I have to do anything, not that I think of the kids as my little horrors. Although, there are some who might think of that as a compliment.

Anyway, we just got back from a trip through Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska and Iowa. We were on the road a lot and my rear end hurts. We saw big heads carved in rock, went to a place called Wall Drug that wasn't as cool as the fifteen million billboards told me it was going to be. We also saw the Corn Palace and it was a BIG disappointment. We stayed over in a very small town in Wyoming where I wouldn't have admitted that I did not vote for Bush lest someone kill me with their six-shooter.

We finished off the trip in Utah where Daphne got to spend lots of quality time with her grandparents. We will soon start the deprogramming because I don't want her to think that life is always going to include people who will actually answer her when she asks a question or feed her anything more nutritious than cereal.

And of course I was in Utah on Father's Day so I did not let the world know once again what an awesome Dad Jack is and how much Daphne and I love him. Proof of his supreme aswesomness is that he wore this tie ALL DAY. The tie that his daughter picked out all on her own for him because she just knew that was what she was supposed to give him.

SUPER DAD

Can you believe it? I have been a Mom for five years. Soon my daughter is going to be a Kindergartner. She has already been to Kindergarten Round-up and will have her pre-school graduation at the end of May. My little baby!!

This morning I was honored by eating brunch at a local restaurant. It was nice. There was lots of fruit and waffles and those sorts of brunchy things. Very yummy.

Daphne insists that today I don't have to do any work. I wish that were true. I would love nothing more than to sit around reading books and watching old episodes of Law and Order. But, I have a research paper due and a presentation to give on Tuesday. There is no rest for this Mother.

There are a lot of changes when you suddenly have a five year old. The first change is that a month may go by and you may forget to put up the birthday pictures from a month ago. Ahhhh....it wasn't so long ago that I would rush to put up any pictures of Daphne before the camera cooled down (figure of speech).
