I have been on Spring Break this week. It was my intention to post more this week, but I was a bit busy. Actually, I was sick and then I was busy. Is there anything worse than having a cold the first day of your vacation time? Well, yes there is and so I promise not to complain about it.
Last September Jack and I started planning a short trip to Chicago for our Spring Break. We were going to take Daphne to the Art Institute and to see a children's play. Let's just pretend like that happened because the truth is not as interesting. Jack did take some time off, but we spent it sleeping and doing house projects. We are such grown-ups.
Yesterday, I had to go to the Main University Library to do some research for an upcoming project I am working on for my class. Daphne and Jack came with me (you know for the fun of walking around a large room of archived journals and dissertations from the last 100 years). Here is Daphne (imagine her taller and about 13 years older) looking very collegiate:

Should I feel bad that while other kids are running around the mall or seeing Horton Hears a Who, my kid is spending her time learning the wonders of academic life? Do you think I am creating a SUPER-NERD? Is is bad that after visiting the University Library we went to the Java House for tea and hot chocolate? And is it even weirder that we all sat and read books? And is it even weirder that this all seems very normal to Daphne?
